Day 1 Toronto Arrival

Upon your arrival, independently enjoy the day exploring Toronto, Canada’s largest city. Accommodation in Toronto is included with your tour package.

Day 2 and 3 VIA Rail Toronto to Jasper

Begin your journey on the TransCanada railway. Experience a grand assortment of landscapes as you traverse over 2500 kilometres of spectacular Canadian scenery on VIA Rails three day journey between Toronto and Jasper.  Travel through a variety of terrain: view boreal forests outline luminous lakes in the peaceful cottage country of northern Ontario; watch the sunset and take in the expansive views over the western prairies; pass through the unequivocal terrain produced by dramatic and dazzling peaks of the Canadian Rockies.  Overnight accommodation provided on the train, as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 4 VIA Rail Jasper Arrival

Enjoy breakfast and lunch on the train, and arrive in the cosy resort town of Jasper, in Jasper National Park, in the afternoon.  Jasper is a quaint community surrounded by amazing mountain peaks, with excellent amenities and restaurants, all easily within walking distance of each other.  Hotel accommodation in Jasper is provided.

Day 5 Jasper to Banff

Travel the Icefields Parkway through the natural splendour of Banff and Jasper national parks. Spectacular glaciers, cascading waterfalls, turquoise lakes and colourful meadows dot this awe-inspiring mountain wilderness. The snow-capped peaks and endless mountain ridges are home to a wide variety of wildlife, including bears, wolves, deer and eagles. The tour stops at the Columbia Icefield where you will venture by Ice Explorer onto the massive Athabasca Glacier. Other brief sightseeing stops include an opportunity to photograph the turquoise waters of picturesque Lake Louise are made throughout the tour. Ice Explorer included. Overnight in Banff.

Day 6 Banff Sightseeing

Take a guided tour of many famous attractions in Banff National Park.  Enjoy summiting Sulfur Mountain on the Banff Gondola, the prisine waters of Lake Minnewanka, and the fabulous Bow Falls.  Peak around Surprise Corner, and witness the rare geographical features of the Hoodoos.  Create your own itinerary for the remainder of the day.  You may enjoy exploring local walking trails, playing golf at The Fairmont Banff Springs, or having extra leisure time in your hotel.  Or, take advantage of your complimentary admission to both the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies and the mineral pools of Banff’s Upper Hot Springs.  Overnight in Banff.

Day 7 Banff to Kamloops

Board the Rocky Mountaineer train, and admire the phenomenal snow topped Rocky Mountains looming overhead.  Observe the rivers as they change their direction of flow as the train passes over the Continental Divide.  Travel through the Spiral Tunnels and Kicking Horse canyon, over Rogers Pass, and past Craigellachie, the historic site where the final spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was placed.  Finally, view a dramatic change of scenery, as the train approaches the ranchlands of interior plateau.  The train will stop for the night in the city of Kamloops, and you will be transferred to your hotel.  Breakfast and lunch are included aboard the train.

Advance tickets may be purchased for evening entertainment in Kamloops: the Two River Junction Musical Revue or the Great Canadian Lumberjack Show.  Ask your AdventureLink Tour Coordinator for details.

Day 8 Kamloops to Vancouver

Depart from central British Columbia to the coastal city of Vancouver.  The environment will gradually change, as the train leaves the arid environment of the interior plateau.  The train travels through scenic river canyons carved into the Coast and Cascade Mountains, passing unique geographical attractions, such as the thundering waters of Hell’s Gate and the towering granite mountains near the city of Hope.  Enjoy passing through British Columbia’s agricultural heartland, the historic Fraser Valley; a memorable site, bordered by lush, vegetated mountainsides, with the salmon rich Fraser River winding through.  Spend the night in a downtown Vancouver hotel.  Breakfast and lunch are included aboard the train.

Day 9 Vancouver Departure

Your vacation concludes upon check-out from your hotel.  However, feel free to use your complimentary exclusive attractions pass to view the city from the Vancouver Lookout, or join the Hop-On Hop-Off Attractions Loop Tour.  Thank you for traveling with AdventureLink Tours.
