The Rocky Mountaineer train departs Vancouver each Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and between April 17th and October 14th, 2008. There are simultaneous eastbound and westbound trips so you can also choose to begin your trip from Calgary, Banff or Jasper.
Pricing in the summer season for the two-day rail to Banff or Jasper starts at $809CAD per person for RedLeaf Service, $1649CADpp for GoldLeaf Service. There are reduced rates in the spring and fall.
The Classic Rail Vacation package adds accommodation the night before and after the trip with rail station transfers.
